Prayer Requests
Praying for our congregation, our community, and our world is one of the obligations and pleasures that each member of our congregation does daily. Prayer requests can also be made by contacting the church office at 515-547-2405.
Sunday school
Join us for Sunday School on Sunday Mornings at 9:00 am for both adults and youth. Adults meet in the East Room and youth in the education wing. Youth Sunday School meets during the school year. Adults meet year round.
Youth
Join us for Sunday School on Sunday Mornings at 9:00 am during the school year! And Confirmation class every other Sunday.
Music
The children's group sings during worship every few months and for the Sunday School Christmas program. Emanuel is blessed with 3 organists and many instrumentalists. A praise band has been organized and plays during worship.
Community service
We participate in the ELCA's God's Work. Our Hands. by performing community work: painting the Community Center, serving meals at Beacon of Hope, collecting shoes for Soles for Souls and cleaning windows and other jobs at the retirement apartments. We go caroling at the Care Center and the apartments at Christmas time. Emanuel is home to the Dayton Food Pantry which supports our surrounding communities every month.
